2017 HONDA CR-V – FIREST DRIVE REVIEW

REVIEW:

The Honda CR-V was introduced in India more than a decade ago. The petrol only SUV did well but lost out in the competition as the market shifted towards diesels owing to the disparity in fuel prices.

Honda continued selling the CR-V and launched the fourth generation car for India in 2013.

Honda is finally warming up to the idea of getting a diesel CR-V and has already started with the homologation process.

The CR-V is a full size SUV that seats five and offers loads of space. The design is getting rounder by each generation and the quirk of the contemporary Japanese design is evident in the CR-V. t gets a two-tone front fascia with a trapezoidal grille with three horizontal chrome slats.

HONDA CR-V ENGINES:

As for the engines, you have two options – the 2.0-litre or the 2.4-litre four cylinder petrol engines. The 2.0-litre engine develops 154bhp of power and 190Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive.

The 2.4-litre mill gets a five-speed automatic and a torque on demand four-wheel- drive. Honda has got the 1.6-litre four-pot diesel for homologation which is available with the 118bhp and 158bhp setups globally. While it is difficult to tell, we hope the diesel CR-V gets the 158bhp setup.
