REVIEW:

The Sunny has been on sale in the Indian market since 2011 and as a part of its mid life makeover, Nissan India has introduced the facelifted version of the Sunny.

The updated version gets cosmetic changes both inside and outside with the former being almost similar to the ones found on the facelifted

INTERIOR OF NISSAN SUNNY:

Inside the Sunny gets gloss black plastic for the centre console while the interiors are beige. It gets a colour screen infotainment for the top-spec versions.

The lower- spec variants will have the beige interiors as well. The car now gets a new three-spoke steering wheel which looks very good. The interior space is still massive, but it also retains the recirculating fan at the rear instead of a true AC vent.

EXTERIOR OF NISSAN SUNNY:

The Sunny now features new boomerang-shaped headlights and a bigger, bolder grille. The chrome inserts on the front lip of the bumper and below the round fog lamp inserts add a lot of bling to the fascia and give the car a fresh look.

The profile remains unchanged except for mirror-mounted indicators and new wheel design.

At the rear a new bumper and a different chrome strip above the registration plate add some style.

ENGINE AND GEARBOX OF SUNNY NISSAN:

The Nissan Sunny gets the same set of two engines- a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel.

The former produces 98bhp and 134Nm of torque while the oil burner produces 85bhp and 200Nm of torque.

Both engines are offered with a five-speed manual while the petrol can also be had with a CVT gearbox.

PRICE AND COMPETITION OF NISSAN SUNNY:

 

Nissan has priced the facelifted Sunny starting from Rs 6.99 lakh to 9.80 lakh.The car now gets safety features like ABS, EBD, Brake Assist and driver side airbag as standard, which is a segment first.

It competes with the Renault Scala, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, VW Vento and the Ford Fiesta.
